Developing people of good character who achieve excellence and make a positive contribution to their communities

Magnus Post 16 gives you the opportunity to further your education and offers all the support and information you need to make the right choices for your future.

We strive to offer the widest variety of subject choices we can so that you are able to gain the knowledge, skills, experience and qualification to enable you to access your next step in education or employment.  We offer both academic and vocational subjects and our flexible approach to selecting subjects allows you to create combination of these to prepare you for your next steps in life.

Our links to the business community in Newark mean that we are also able to offer work-related opportunities in appropriate subject areas to help you gain that invaluable experience to help you achieve your goals.

At sixth form, we are able to offer smaller class sizes and this means that you will have access to more one-to-one teaching and support from teachers who are able to get to know you and your future plans.

Alongside your subject choices you will also have dedicated PSHE, PE and enrichment lessons to support your personal development.  Students will also develop their understanding of the world through our RE provision, which is delivered through a blend of lessons, collective worship and conference days.

In addition to our academic support, you will also be supported by a dedicated tutor who you will see each day. There will also be regular opportunities to access careers and higher education advice, including dedicated careers guidance and external speakers, workshops and visits.

16-19 Bursary Fund

We understand that some students may find it difficult to meet the costs of learning, therefore some students may be eligible for the 16-19 Bursary Fund. This is a scheme set up by the government to help those students who may need financial support to continue studying post-16 courses.

To find out if you are eligible for the bursary, please find our policy to the right, or on our policy page.
