Leadership

At Magnus Academy we view the Sixth Form students as ambassadors and leaders of the whole Academy therefore we have Head Students and a Sixth Form leadership team. These students are nominated by the teaching staff and the Sixth Form student body and they go through a rigorous application and interview process to prepare them for the wider world of work. Sixth Form students also have the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities in the wider school, such as mentoring and supporting teachers in enrichment lessons.

Enrichment

All Year 12 students complete one week’s work experience at the end of the academic year so you get to experience your chosen career and also build some additional skills to add to your CV or personal statement.

At Magnus Academy you are part of a community of students who benefit from a wide and varied personal, social, health and emotional timetable. PSHA covers faith, morals and ethics, charity and community, sports, drugs and alcohol awareness, sexual health and relationships and driving safety. This will support you through your studies, helping you develop as a young adult and preparing you for a future life as a responsible member of society.

As we are a Church of England school, Sixth Form students get the opportunity to further explore faith and spirituality through topics such as the Holocaust and popular music. Magnus Academy Sixth Form also offers a wide enrichment programme building on skills for life such as cooking and budgeting.
