Our Mission

Ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills and character to live happy, healthy and successful lives. To all are included and work hard to fulfil their potential regardless of background or starting point and that their choices are not limited by self belief, opportunity or circumstance.

Developing people of good character who achieve excellence and make a positive contribution to their communities

Magnus Post 16 gives you the opportunity to further your education and offers all the support and information you need to make the right choices for your future.

We have been working hard to extend our Post 16 provision and are able to offer students a wide variety of subject choices to gain new skills for employment or higher education.

Strong business links in the local community also mean that we are now able to offer work-related opportunities and experience alongside vocational courses and traditional academic qualifications. Our small class sizes encourage more one-to-one teaching, enabling our staff to get to know their students and thus offer specific advice and encouragement tailored to individual needs and we also have a strong mentoring and tutorial system in place to enable new students to integrate quickly, a feature which is often highly praised by our current students.

In addition to this our enrichment programme ensures students are well rounded and prepared for their next step by combining elements of skills development, careers guidance and Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE studies).

16-19 Bursary Fund

We understand that some students may find it difficult to meet the costs of learning, therefore some students may be eligible for the 16-19 Bursary Fund. This is a scheme set up by the government to help those students who may need financial support to continue studying post-16 courses.

To find out if you are eligible for the bursary, please find our policy to the right, or on our policy page.
