Miss M Taylor
Hi, my name is Miss Taylor and I am the careers university champion. My role is to promote universities to all of our students and create relationships with universities far and wide, to ensure every single student has the opportunity to learn about and attend university. I think it is so important that students, from an early age, are given the right information and access to universities, so they can create clear goals for their future and have the support they need to achieve them. This is why I organise trips to universities starting in year 7, university students and speakers to run workshops at our school for all age groups, and events for parents to clear up misconceptions and answer any questions they may have.
The careers team are currently working with Unifrog to assist our students on goal-setting, creating CV’s, and searching for the right post-16 opportunities for them. So when the time comes for our students to leave us, they will all be fully equipped with everything they need to achieve their full potential.

Mr John Taylor
Hello, my name is John Taylor, I’m usually known as John or ‘JT’, and I am the Careers Adviser who works with Magnus Church of England Academy to deliver independent and impartial careers guidance.
After working in London for the past twenty-five years I joined Magnus after leaving Prospects Services where I worked as an Operations Manager leading a team of about thirty careers advisers, SEN Specialists and targeted support workers.
I am now working to ensure that all of our Magnus students have access to high quality careers information, advice and guidance.
I aim to ensure that Magnus Church of England students have the capabilities, qualities and attitudes; underpinned by the skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to succeed in the Local, National, European and Global Labour Markets.
Above all my aim is to ensure that Magnus students are well informed and understand what is needed, in terms of skills, qualities and qualifications, to support their progression; enable them to take responsibility for their own to choices and to navigate their own career pathways in the future.
I will ensure that they will understand about how to make the most of opportunities available to them and understand the notion of paid and voluntary experience and be able to apply skills, knowledge and experience acquired outside the school’s community and recognise how this can help them achieve their aims.
