Magnus Church of England Academy says there was an atmosphere of great excitement as students collected their A Level results today.
Anna Martin is Principal of Magnus Church of England Academy and she said it had been the best results day since the global pandemic, marking a significant achievement for our pupils and staff.
“These outstanding results reflect the strength of our world-class curriculum and the supportive learning environment at Magnus, where every pupil is encouraged to achieve excellence and develop the character to make a positive contribution to their communities.
“We congratulate all our sixth form pupils on their achievements and look forward to seeing them thrive in their future endeavours.”
There were some notable results at the academy including Ruby Roberts who achieved an A* in Criminology, an A in Psychology and an A in Sociology and is going on to study Sociology and Bishop Grosseteste University. Macey Warburton achieved a D*D*D in her Sports Extended Diploma and has secured an apprenticeship in Primary PE Education. Luke Walker achieved an A in Criminology, a B in English and a B in Psychology. Luke is now looking forward to studying Psychology at either University of Warwick or University of Sheffield. Maisie Hardy also achieved a B in English, a B in RE and a B in sociology and will now be studying Politics and Sociology at the University of Bristol.
Student Ruby Roberts said they were delighted with their grades, commenting, “I am very pleased with my results, I got what I was hoping for. I got an A* in Criminology, A in Sociology and an A in Psychology. I’m excited to now go to Bishop Grosseteste to study Sociology, thank you to Magnus for helping to change my mind about university.”
Maisie Hardy also attained higher than expected results saying, “I am really happy with my results. I wasn’t expected to get a B in RE so I’m over the moon with that. I’m excited to go to the University of Bristol and study Politics and Sociology.”
Luke Walker (Head Boy) achieved an A in Criminology, B in English Language and Literature combined, B in Psychology and A in EPQ.
“I’m going to study Psychology at either University of Warwick or University of Sheffield and I’m really looking forward to learning more about a subject I’m passionate about. I’m also excited for the new experiences and challenges of uni life. I want to say thank you to all my teachers and the staff at Magnus for their help and support over the past 2 years. I want to go into teaching in the future and being here has helped me make that decision.”
