CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – School deep cleaning, open as usual Monday.

Today we have been made aware that a member of teaching staff will be self-isolating next week as a precaution following the governments guidance. He has flu like symptoms, and we are hopeful that this is a heavy cold but have taken the extra precaution to deep clean the school over the weekend. We have closed the sports centre to enable this to take place. The school will be open as usual from Monday morning.

The teacher in question has not been tested and is taking advice from NHS England regarding this. I am therefore unable to confirm whether this is a case of Covid-19 or not. Following Public Health England guidelines there is no need at this stage for the school to take further action, and your child should continue to attend school as normal from Monday. Their advice is to monitor the situation in school and seek further advice if we have concerns. The safety of your child is always at the forefront of our priorities in school.

I will of course update you on this and all matters concerning Coronavirus regularly as the picture develops. I am hopeful that this is an over cautious move on our part; we want to be extra vigilant and hope that you will support us in our efforts to follow guidelines.
